Dr. Amy Nau

Amy Nau is the co-owner of Forefront Eye Care, co-founder and CEO of Eyewell, and an adjunct associate clinical professor at the New England College of Optometry where she completed her doctoral degree in 2000. Dr. Nau completed a residency in ocular surface disease and then worked in the ophthalmology department at Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston while acting as a sub-investigator at Ora. In 2003 she took a position at the UPMC Eye Center  Department of Ophthalmology and as director of the the optometry service. While there, she established the medical contact lens clinic and founded the Sensory Substitution Laboratory. She is a member of the American Optometric  Association, the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists, the International Keratoconus Academy, the Scleral Lens Education Society, the Association for Vision and Research in Ophthalmology, and the Eye and Contact Lens Association, and is a Diplomate in the Cornea, Contact Lens, and Refractive Technology section of the American  Academy of Optometry. Dr. Nau’s clinical and research interests focus on medical contact lenses, keratoconus, and diseases affecting the tear film and ocular surface.
